John Chenoweth Scholarship Fund

John Chenoweth

One of our long time Michiana Male Chorus members passed away recently after a very tragic Christmas Day auto accident. John Chenoweth was a wonderful man, deeply devoted to his family and sang in men’s choruses for over 60 years.  At his wife’s suggestion, we have created a scholarship fund in his name and all memorial contributions that have been received already are in that fund now. We look forward to awarding this scholarship money to a young person interested in pursuing a music career.

If you would like to support this fund with a contribution, please contact us. If you have someone in mind who is studying music (primarily vocal) in college right now who could be a candidate for us to consider, please let me know. The Chorus currently does have a scholarship fund in place but this one, we want to be special in John’s honor.

He was instrumental in keeping the chorus alive back in 1985 when remnants of the Elks Club Chorus, the Bendix Chorus and the Blue Notes from Tyler in Niles were slowly losing members, so the Michiana Male Chorus was formed with John and a couple others leading the way.

Please share this as there are a lot of people in the Michiana area who knew John and may want to participate. Contributions can be mailed to the address on our Contact page.  Thank you very much!
